Volunteering

The contribution of enthusiastic and committed volunteers is the most important asset of the Athens City Museum. Being responsible for a variety of duties, they ensure the smooth operation of the Museum and play a vital role in its success. The Museum has developed an innovative volunteering program, allowing people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds  to spend their free time in a creative and productive way by getting involved in a place that fits their skills and provides them with necessary support.

The Athens City Museum does recognize the vital contribution of its volunteers. Therefore, it offers and certifies work experience to students and young job seekers and supports volunteers´ further professional training in the museum field by facilitating their participation in workshops. We welcome everyone who desires to share and apply his/her valuable conceptual and professional experience in the cultural field, ultimately benefiting the Athens City Museum and its visitors, i.e by leading visitors on free of charge guided tours, assisting in cataloguing and sorting of archives and helping in our library.
